'Cowboys' Face Ban From Dutch Gambling Market But Hope For Others

Online gambling operators who have directly targeted Dutch punters may face a “cooling off” period before they will be allowed to enter a new regulated Dutch market, a government minister has said.

Netherlands justice minister Sander Dekker said that he wished to permanently ban “illegal operators who continue to actively focus on the Dutch market”.

But in a written response to lawmakers in the Dutch Senate, Dekker indicated that applicants who had targeted Dutch gamblers in the past could prove “future reliability by showing good behaviour during a consecutive period prior to the licence application”.
