With a national ban on lottery and keno betting only weeks away, Lottoland’s Australian arm has lashed out with a regulatory complaint to the New South Wales (NSW) state government over rival Tatts Group’s “campaign of misinformation” against the company.
Lottoland Australia’s battle for survival amid bipartisan political support for the ban is starting to resemble a scorched-earth policy, with CEO Luke Brill now arguing that Tatts Group’s A$5m ($3.8m) campaign against secondary betting and allegedly coercive conduct against newsagents warrants “appropriate sanctions or suspension of their licences”.
