Clark Freeport's Widus Confirms Expansion Into $500m Resort

The Korean owners of Widus Hotel and Casino in Clark Freeport have confirmed they will more than double their investment in the Philippine property to $500m to become the “first fully integrated resort outside Metro Manila”.

Widus International Leisure Inc (WILI) signed a consolidated lease agreement with Clark Development Corporation on Saturday that commits to 15bn pesos ($287m) in additional investment, including non-gaming attractions, MICE facilities and the remaining costs for a fourth hotel tower currently under construction.

“This [3 hectare] property that we got is to supplement our current property, thus giving WILI a total of around 11 hectares of property to develop,” WILI assistant vice president for corporate planning Agnes Liwanag told reporters.
