Catalan authorities are to schedule meetings with online gaming companies to hammer out new rules that will regulate remote gaming inside Spain’s most prosperous region.Forthcoming meetings with online gambling operators will follow the presentation this week of a new draft gambling law to representatives from within Catalonia’s land-based gaming sector.
A press statement from the Catalan government confirmed regulators at the Barcelona-based Direcció General del Joc i d’Espectacles (DGJE) will also look to consult with other government ministries and gaming workers’ union groups as they seek to ‘modernise’ Catalonia’s principal gambling law, which dates back to 1984.
