To maximize the potential of the burgeoning esports industry, both casinos and game publishers have to adjust their way of thinking, experts have said.
For casinos, the opportunity to capture a demographic much younger than the typical casino age group is an appealing one, but to do so, they will have to create an experience that surpasses what they can do from the comfort of their own home, said Ari Fox, CEO of the Casino eSports Conference.
“If I’m a millennial and I walk into a casino right now, I’ve got nothing to do,” Fox said during a panel last week at the 23rd annual East Coast Gaming Congress in Atlantic City.
