Camelot Warns UK Society Lottery Proposals Threaten Business

UK National Lottery operator Camelot has warned that government plans to increase society lottery top prizes and the amount they can raise threaten its own fundraising.

Ministers have launched a consultation process on plans to increase society lottery top prizes to £500,000 and to allow lotteries run by charities and other non-commercial organisations to increase the amount of money they can raise each year from £10m to £100m.

The exercise will also test opinion on whether the maximum amount that can be made on each draw should rise from £4m to £5m.
