Cambodia has leased a 75-hectare plot near the UNESCO-protected religious precinct Angkor Wat to casino operator NagaCorp to build a resort that will cross-promote its Phnom Penh casino complex.
Hong Kong-listed NagaCorp said in a Sunday filing that it secured a 50-year lease of a 75-hectare “prime piece of development land” less than 1km from the Angkor Wat exclusion zone in the northwestern province of Siem Reap.
The lease agreement was signed on May 12 this year but not announced until the company filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Sunday.
