Senator Bill Dodd, a sponsor of a bill that would legalize online sports betting in California, said Monday he was pulling the legislation because of opposition from tribal casino operators.
The proposed constitutional amendment would have allowed tribal casinos and racetracks to offer sports betting, subject to approval by voters in a state-wide referendum that could have been held on November 3.
