Efforts to legalize and regulate internet poker and daily fantasy sports (DFS) in California appear to be at a standstill, according to sources, who said that lobbying and political will for both issues is on the ebb.
The Golden State’s 2015-2016 legislative session ended eventfully last August.
Bitter industry sparring over whether PokerStars’ U.S. activities prior to its acquisition by Amaya Gaming should preclude the company from entering California caused last year’s internet poker legislation to become politically toxic.
