The ongoing controversy over proposed new dealer rules for California’s commercial cardrooms took center stage in Sacramento on Wednesday as city officials, state lawmakers, business organizations and law enforcement officials questioned the need for the changes.
“The proposal discards decades of stable business practices that have enabled cardrooms to generate revenues for local government and local public safety,” said state Senator Cathleen Galgiani, a Democrat whose district includes the cities of Stockton and Modesto.
