California Cardrooms Call Tribal Lawsuit A 'Misguided Attack' On Their Businesses

The president of the California Gaming Association (CGA) on Wednesday called the recent lawsuit filed by two tribal casinos a “misguided attack”, not only against cardrooms, but their employees and communities across the state.

“Over the last few years, certain tribal casinos have attempted to eliminate cardroom competition by challenging games that have existed in cardrooms before tribal casinos were even authorized by voters,” Kyle Kirkland, president of the Sacramento-based CGA, told GamblingCompliance. 

Kirkland stressed that cardroom games comply with all federal, state, and local laws.
