Bulgaria And Lithuania Propose Stricter Advertising Regulations

Moves towards tighter controls on gambling advertising are gaining momentum in Bulgaria and Lithuania, with parliaments in both countries due to debate amendments that would limit the scope of gambling marketing.

In Bulgaria, a proposal to amend the Gambling Act was submitted to parliament last month and is awaiting debate. The proposals include tighter regulations on how gambling products can be advertised, with the aim of closing an existing loophole that allows indirect advertising, such as the announcement of jackpot winners.
