A joint venture of IGT and Scientific Games is set to land a 15-year concession to operate instant lotteries in Brazil after submitting the only offer at an auction in Sao Paulo on Tuesday.
The move by Estrela Instantânea, a newly formed consortium of the two lottery giants, means the Brazilian government should now be able to issue the so-called Lotex concession at the third time of asking, more than four years after legislation to create the new form of instant lottery was first passed by Congress.
