Bratislava Gambling Ban Struck Down By Local Court

Attempts to outlaw all forms of gambling in the Slovakian capital of Bratislava have been blocked by a regional court.

Conflict over the future of gambling in Bratislava began with city council approval for a ban in April 2017, which would have seen all gambling venues slowly disappear from the city as existing licenses expired without renewal.

However, lawyers representing the gambling industry successfully argued in court last week that the Bratislava city council had committed a procedural error when approving the motion.
