Loteria Nacional, the administrator of bingo gaming in the city of Buenos Aires, has announced a new tendering process to grant licences to bingo operators. However, politicians are enraged at the move, which they see as undercutting Buenos Aires' political authority.
Loteria Nacional announced last week that on September 27 it will commence a tendering process to grant private operators additional 10 year licences for the five principal bingo venues in the city. This decision has been called into question by several political groups, who believe that this process should now be managed by the city of Buenos Aires as part of the city’s political obligations.
