Two compromise pieces of legislation to legalize casinos in Georgia were filed Thursday in the state legislature, with a scaled-back number of locations from initial plans for up to six casino state-wide to just two “resort destinations,” including one in Atlanta.
The bills come as Republican Governor Nathan Deal has said he is willing to keep the discussion going with casino supporters in Georgia.
Deal had been a casino opponent, but signaled a shift in support Tuesday that could give the bills new life in the Georgia legislature.
