Betsson Pressed On Norway, Netherlands Regulatory Woes

Analysts have pressured Betsson's chief executive for details on Norwegian payment blocking and whether a Dutch fine could leave it on the sidelines when the country's online gambling market opens in a few years.

Swedish regulation and taxes hit earnings at many firms, including state-owned Svenska Spel, in the second quarter, but Betsson was further pounded in Norway and the Netherlands.

Betsson's net income fell 37 percent to 171.6m Swedish kronor (€16.3m) in the second quarter, as net gaming revenue declined 5 percent to SEK1.28bn, the Stockholm-listed online gambling operator said.
