Baseball Executive Talks Sports Betting At G2E — It Did Not Go Well

Instead of finding common ground on sports betting, the casino industry and Major League Baseball (MLB) drew their battle lines more clearly than ever on Wednesday during a panel discussion at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E).

Kenny Gersh, MLB’s executive vice president of gaming and new business ventures, and Sara Slane, senior vice president of public affairs for the American Gaming Association, paid lip service to how much they agree on most sports-betting issues.

However, their often heated disagreement on compensation for the leagues from sports-betting operations dominated their session at the largest annual gambling conference in North America.
