Australia Launches 'National Consumer Protection Framework' For Online Wagering

The Australian federal government and its regional counterparts have launched the long-awaited National Consumer Protection Framework (NCPF), fleshing out and triggering deadlines for measures to counter problem online gambling.

Federal minister for families and social services Paul Fletcher launched the NCPF on Friday, announcing that Australia’s federal government, six state governments and two territory governments had finally signed off on the NCPF National Policy Statement in response to the O’Farrell Review of Illegal Offshore Wagering in 2015.
