As political obstacles delay the plans of leading Asian land-based casino centres to license online gambling operators, an alternative may be taking shape in the form of split jurisdictional businesses. And with all but their core bet-taking activities located in hubs such as Macau or Singapore, operators may also accelerate their progress to full licensing.While gambling regulators in both Macau and Singapore are known to have plans in development to license i-gaming in their jurisdictions, significant political and operational concerns look set to delay the arrival of those licenses any time soon.
