Artichoke Joe’s Granted Temporary License As Status Of California Complaint Unknown

A California card room, which recently settled a federal anti-money laundering (AML) complaint, will continue to operate after gaming regulators unanimously approved an extension of its gaming license for 90 days while the state’s Bureau of Gambling Control completes its report.

Alan Titus, an attorney with Robb & Ross in Mill Valley, California, who represents Artichoke Joe’s card room, said Thursday’s licensing hearing had nothing to do with the accusation that California authorities filed in November against the card room.

“The bureau didn’t finish our report,” Titus told GamblingCompliance. “Our license was set to expire on June 30.”
