Apple’s recent update to its app development guidelines threatens to delete gambling apps that fail to comply, as updates for numerous gambling apps have already been rejected, according to leading app development companies.
Gambling operators were warned by the US technology giant in January 2019 that it would start to enforce guideline 4.2, which requires apps to have a “minimal level of nativity”, meaning that sportsbooks, casinos, bingo and lotteries can no longer simply repackage their websites as apps in so-called "containers".
