After Ripping Leagues, AGA’s Freeman Says He Can Still Work With Them On Sports Betting

After accusing the National Basketball Association (NBA) of trying to skim money from American taxpayers, the gambling industry’s top lobbyist in Washington, D.C. says he can still work with the NBA and other professional sports leagues to legalize and regulate sports betting.

“We’re committed for the long haul. There are going to be high points; there are going to be low points. That’s part of the process,” Geoff Freeman, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association (AGA), told GamblingCompliance in a phone interview.

However, the AGA is “not going to sit back and idly watch what we believe to be ridiculous proposals,” Freeman said.
