It would be "suicidal" for affiliates to not raise standards and join the raucous public debate over updating UK gambling legislation, the chair of a top affiliates group has said.
Rightly or wrongly, affiliates are perceived as "one of the most toxic parts of a toxic industry", so the industry needs to both adopt safer gambling standards and begin speaking up, said Clive Hawkswood, chairman of the Responsible Affiliates in Gambling (RAIG) group.
