Affiliates Should Shape Up Or Face Dire Fate, Advocate Says

  • Affiliates perceived as 'toxic' by media, politicians

  • Affiliates told to adopt safer gambling practices

It would be "suicidal" for affiliates to not raise standards and join the raucous public debate over updating UK gambling legislation, the chair of a top affiliates group has said.  

Rightly or wrongly, affiliates are perceived as "one of the most toxic parts of a toxic industry", so the industry needs to both adopt safer gambling standards and begin speaking up, said Clive Hawkswood, chairman of the Responsible Affiliates in Gambling (RAIG) group.
