A New Jersey order to licensees to stop doing business with an affiliate it found was promoting both legal and illegal online gambling sites is a stark warning to affiliates not to mix legitimate with more murky sources of income.
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE) ordered all of its licensed casinos and online gambling suppliers to stop doing business with OddsShark.com after the regulator found that the Gibraltar-based affiliate site was offering links to unlicensed Bovada, Betonline.ag and 5dimes.eu alongside licensed New Jersey online betting and casino sites.
A letter to the company said the state would not license any company promoting illegal sites, “as this activity negatively affects that company’s good character, honesty and integrity”.
