Italian online gambling revenue grew by 13.6 percent year-on-year to €1.79bn in 2019, with growth evenly balanced between the first and second halves of the year despite the full implementation of Italy's sweeping gambling advertising ban in mid-July.
The 13.6 percent headline growth, revealed in data collected by newswire Agipro, was driven by 17.1 percent upside in online casino revenue to €831.4m and a 13.2 percent increase in online fixed-odds sports-betting revenue to €725.6m.
