Las Vegas Sands CEO and chairman Sheldon Adelson remains focused on pushing an online gaming ban through Congress instead of relying on the U.S. Department of Justice under President Trump, an Adelson spokesman told GamblingCompliance on Tuesday.
“They have a big agenda they need to go through, and we have a legislative agenda we want to fulfill. So we’re proceeding solely on the legislative side,” said Andy Abboud, the vice president of government relations for Las Vegas Sands who is widely regarded as Adelson’s right-hand man on political issues.
“There is no indication whatsoever that we’ve seen that there’s anything happening at the [Trump administration] level [on internet gambling]. We’re not seeing that,” Abboud said.
