The U.S. would become home to comfortably the largest betting market in the world if a federal prohibition was lifted and wagering able to expand beyond Nevada and the three other states exempted from the ban, a new report by GamblingCompliance Research Services (GCRS) has found.
According to GCRS estimates, Nevada-style sportsbooks in commercial and tribal casinos across the country would generate $1.5bn in annual gross gaming revenue (GGR).
The U.S. sports-betting market would be worth an additional $6.3bn annually if wagers were also authorized in land-based retail outlets beyond casinos.
