With the start of a new NFL season on Thursday, a new study by GamblingCompliance has found the U.S.’ sports-betting market would be worth up to $11.9bn in annual gross revenue if permitted to spread nationwide.
The U.S. would comfortably become the world’s largest sports-betting market if a federal prohibition was lifted and wagering was allowed beyond Nevada and three other states exempted from the ban, a new report by GamblingCompliance Research Services (GCRS) has found.
The report estimates Nevada-style sportsbooks in commercial and tribal casinos across the country would generate $1.6bn in annual gross gaming revenue (GGR).
